Community guidelines.
ASKEE works because Kerala students treat it like a neighborhood. These are the rules that keep it that way.
What we encourage
- Post honest descriptions and real photos of the actual item.
- Use respectful language with buyers, sellers, and tutors.
- Honour the price and pickup time you agree to in chat.
- Rate every completed trade — it helps the next student.
- Report listings or users that break these rules.
What is not allowed
- Sell weapons, illegal drugs, prescription medicine, tobacco, alcohol, or any item restricted under Indian law.
- List counterfeit, replica, or stolen goods.
- Post adult content, hate speech, harassment, or threats.
- Use the platform to scam, phish, or impersonate someone else.
- Share private contact info of another user without consent.
- Spam the feed with duplicate or off-topic posts.
How moderation works
Reports go to our moderation queue and are reviewed by a human, usually within hours on weekdays. Clear violations result in the listing being removed and may suspend the account.
Serious or repeat violations — especially scams, harassment, or prohibited items — result in a permanent ban. Where applicable, we cooperate with law enforcement and our Grievance Officer (named in our Terms of Service) handles formal complaints under Indian IT Rules.
If your listing or account was removed and you believe it was a mistake, reply to the notification email — appeals are read by a different reviewer.
