How do I post a listing on ASKEE?

Tap "Sell" from the bottom bar, pick a category (product, rental, tutor, service, event, lost & found), add 1–6 photos, a title, price, and location. Most posts take under 20 seconds.

Is ASKEE only for engineering students?

No. ASKEE is built for all Kerala students — schools, colleges, universities and polytechnics — and the wider campus neighborhood including hostels and local sellers. Engineering students are a large early audience but the platform is open to everyone.

Do you show my phone number publicly?

Never. Your phone is hidden by default. You choose when buyers can call you — never, after a first message, after they register for your event, after an order, or always public. Even when allowed, the number is fetched by a server-side check and never embedded in the page.

Is meeting in person safe?

Use the in-app chat to agree on a public spot (campus gate, library, hostel reception). Bring a friend for high-value items. Verify the listing photos match in person, and only pay when you have the item in hand. See our Safety guide for the full checklist.

What is a "Verified Student" badge?

Students can verify their college either by signing in with a campus email or by uploading their ID for review. Verified accounts get a badge on their profile and listings, which raises trust and conversion.

How do payments work?

ASKEE does not handle payments. Once a seller accepts your request, you arrange payment and handover directly with them — UPI, cash, or however you both agree. Meet in a public place, check the item before paying, and prefer traceable payments like UPI.

How do I report a listing or a user?

Open the listing or profile, tap the menu, then "Report". Choose a reason (scam, prohibited item, harassment, fake listing). Reports are reviewed by our moderation team; serious violations remove the listing within hours and may suspend the account.

What items are not allowed?

No weapons, illegal substances, prescription medicine, counterfeit goods, adult content, live animals, or anything restricted under Indian law. Tobacco and alcohol are also prohibited. See our Community Guidelines for the full list.

Does ASKEE charge a commission?

No. ASKEE is free to use — there are no platform or selling fees, and we never touch your money. ASKEE is supported by local business advertising.

How do I close my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Active orders and disputes must be closed first. Once deleted, your profile, listings, and chat history are removed within 30 days.
