The Meet Safely checklist

Meet in public

Campus gate, library, hostel reception, or a busy café. Skip private rooms and parking lots, especially for first meetings.

Inspect before you pay

Power it on, open the case, check serial numbers if relevant. Only hand over money when the item matches the listing photos in your hand.

Bring a friend for high-value items

Phones, laptops, instruments, jewellery — don't go alone. A second pair of eyes is the single biggest fraud prevention.

Keep the chat in-app

Don't move to WhatsApp before the deal is real. The in-app chat is the only place we can help if something goes wrong.

Your number stays hidden

Sellers choose when buyers can call. By default, your phone is never visible — only after the first conversation.

Trust the badge

A "Verified Student" badge means the account was confirmed through a campus email or ID review. Prefer verified sellers for higher-value items.

Red flags — walk away if you see these

  • Asks for advance payment before you see the item.
  • Pressures you to meet alone, at night, or in a private location.
  • Refuses to chat in-app and insists on WhatsApp or phone first.
  • Price is way below market — common bait for fake listings.
  • Asks for OTPs, UPI PINs, or to scan a QR to "receive" money.
  • Stock photos with no original images of the actual item.

How we protect you

Contact privacy by default

Your phone number is hidden from public view. You control when buyers can call — never, after a message, after an order, or always.

Verified student accounts

Verified students earn a badge after we confirm their campus email or college ID. Look for it on listings and profiles.

All disputes traceable in chat

Every message, status change, and payment confirmation is logged in your Transaction Room. If you need our help, we have the full timeline.

Something feels wrong?

Use the “Report” menu on any listing or profile. For urgent safety issues, contact us directly — we triage within hours.
