Terms of service.

Welcome to ASKEE. These Terms govern your access to and use of our peer-to-peer student marketplace and campus network.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, registering, or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately cease all access and use of the Platform.

2. Eligibility & Student Verification

ASKEE is built strictly for student-to-student transactions and college campus social networking. To register and use the service, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a college, university, or higher educational institution in Kerala, India.
  • Register using a valid email address, preferably using your official college student email domain (e.g. ending in `.edu`, `.ac.in`, `.edu.in`).
  • Provide accurate identification information for student verification audits when requested.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that cannot provide proof of student enrollment or are found to be registered by non-students.

3. Marketplace Transactions Disclaimer

ASKEE facilitates connections between student buyers and student sellers. We are an intermediary listing directory, not a retailer, auction house, or payment processor.

  • Peer-to-Peer Nature: All negotiations, agreements, payments (cash, UPI, bank transfer), and item handoffs occur directly between the buyer and the seller. ASKEE does not hold, handle, or guarantee transactions or funds.
  • No Warranties: All items are listed and sold "as-is." ASKEE does not inspect, guarantee, or warrant the condition, safety, authenticity, legality, or quality of any items listed on the Platform.
  • Risk: Users carry out transactions at their own risk. We strongly recommend meeting in safe, public, on-campus locations during daylight hours to conduct trades.

4. Community Posts and The Quad

Users may post questions, poll votes, comments, and discussions on our campus discussion boards (The Quad). By posting content, you grant ASKEE a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute your content on the Platform.

You agree not to post content that is unlawful, offensive, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing on intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties.

5. Trust, Safety, & Administrative Moderation

To maintain the integrity, safety, and student-focused nature of ASKEE, the Platform employs dedicated moderators, administrators, and super administrators.

  • Content Removal: Platform administrators and super administrators have full authority to flag, suspend, hide, or permanently delete any listing, comment, or community post listed by anyone at any time, for any reason, with or without prior notice.
  • Account Penalties: We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or permanently ban any user account that violates these Terms of Service or our Community Guidelines, or engaged in fraudulent behavior, scamming, or harassment.
  • Audit Log Tracking: All moderator actions, including deletions, flags, suspensions, and role promotions, are recorded atomically in our secure system audit log to prevent staff abuse and guarantee transparency in appeals.
  • Automated Hiding: In addition to manual moderation, community posts that receive three (3) or more distinct reports from different users are automatically hidden from public view pending administrative review.

6. Grievance Officer details

Under the Indian Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, any user or affected party may report violations of these terms, copyright infringement, or illegal material to our Grievance Officer.
